Obituary:
Mary Kathryn Mick Crites, age 89, of Warren, Ohio, departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital after a short illness at 2:02 PM.
She was born, Wednesday, February 16, 1921 at Buckhannon, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Audra Earl and Maria Jane Courtney Mick.
Mary was married, September 25, 1937 to Howard Marshall Crites, who preceded her in death on September 3, 1986.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Cornelious Marvin "Paige" and Cecil Clarence Mick; one sister, Mildred Margaret Chapin; one son, James Earl Crites; and two great grandsons, Jason and Paul Crites.
Survivors include two sons, Howard Cecil (Nellie) Crites of Austintown and Rodger Lee (Char) Crites of Warren; one sister, Dorothy Jane (Donald) Carey of Mechanicsville, VA; daughter-in-law, Patricia "Patty" Crites of Howland; grandsons, Dennis of Iowa, Bruce (Monica) of Chicago, Brian (Adrienne) of Warren and Raymond Crites of Warren; granddaughters, Debbra (Joe) Sabat of Howland, Darlene (Nick) Kringeta of Canal Fulton and Laura Crites of Youngstown; two step-grandchildren, Kathy Patrick of Lordstown and Adam Patrick of Cincinnati; 15 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was a Christian by faith and was a member of Tod Avenue United Methodist Church and the Angelus Sunday school class of which she loved and appreciated the great fellowship of her brothers and sisters in Christ. Mary also attended Warren First Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and dominos with her many friends.
She was a housewife and previously was employed at the Buckhannon Shirt and Trouser Factory, Ravenna Arsenal and the former Warren Telephone Company.
Calling hours are 5-7 PM, Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Final rites will be held at the funeral home chapel, Thursday, March 11 at 11:00 AM, where family and friends may also visit one hour prior to the service. Her nephew, the Rev. Jeffery Chapin will officiate along with the Rev. Mark Vincent, and interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, Ohio.
